My recent stay at Motel 6 near the Wichita airport had its ups and downs. The room I first checked into had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, despite being a supposed non-smoking room. There were burn holes on the sheets and bugs that resembled cockroaches, which was alarming. Luckily, the staff quickly moved me to a more modern second-floor room. That room was significantly better, clean and comfortable. However, no fresh towels or bedding changed during my stay, leaving me uncertain about the service protocols. Although the area felt a bit sketchy with some questionable characters around, I must say the manager was very accommodating and friendly throughout my stay. I appreciate that it is pet-friendly, but the designated area for dogs was problematic due to its proximity to the dumpster and cleanliness issues. This motel may work for a quick stopover but had room for improvement in cleanliness and service consistency.

For a quieter stay, request a room away from the front entrance as noise from the street and other guests can be disruptive.
